i’m a product designer trained at the rhode island school of design. my focus is new product development, and i’ve worked on orthopedic implants, hospital systems, electric aircraft and humanoid robots.
at illuminoss i co-invented a minimally invasive bone fixation system: a balloon catheter delivers a uv-curable polymer that hardens inside the bone. it’s a far gentler repair than rods and pins, and it made me a named inventor on twelve us patents.
at mass general brigham i built tools on the hospital’s real-time location system. we found that physicians who spent less face time with patients ordered more tests, and published it in technology and health care and health systems.
at kitty hawk i worked on cabin design and flight safety for an electric aircraft, including a lightweight seat and a 3d-knit crash suit. later i built pfas.report, a direct-to-consumer pfas blood test, in a week.
in 2019 i founded meters per second inc. to build digital health infrastructure.
these days i’m preoccupied with agents, and the hope that they finally fix how we interface with machines. i live in lafayette, in the east bay, next to the las trampas wilderness.
